In this fun workshop-style course, participants will adapt the entertaining Broadway musical '13', and perform it at the Victoria Fringe Festival. Instruction is aimed at enhancing performance skills and learning about the development of a musical. Classes will focus on vocals, character development, stage presence, and movement. 13 is a story about growing up and coming of age, set to a backdrop of high school romance and relationships. It is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it.
No auditions (first 24 to sign up are automatically in the cast).
Programme begins Thursday, August 19 and includes three Saturdays.
Students can earn 4 credits for Musical Theatre 10 or Fine Arts 11.
The show will be part of the annual Victoria Fringe Festival, with evening performances on September 2 and 3 and both a matinee and an evening show on September 4.
