Voice - Youth Opera Boarding Programme 071110

Voice - Youth Opera (Boarding Programme)

Artistic Director: Joanne Hounsell
This innovative two-week voice programme will be comprised of classical vocalists who are dedicated to taking their skills to the next level. Our programme inspires students to discover their full potential as gifted musicians. The summer curriculum includes one-on-one lessons in voice and diction combined with daily yoga, group acting and movement, staged opera scenes and voice master classes. We will also offer special seminars on Auditioning Technique and Resume Building, Synergy in Singing and Pathways to Music in Canada and the U.S.A. Set in a residential environment, this programme gives the students a chance to immerse themselves in a world of music with a group of their peers. It is here that they will be able to share their experiences and their love of music not only with their teachers and the other faculty, but with each other. An audition may be necessary, details will be provided with registration confirmation.

Residential Registration

Registration includes instruction, supplies, field trips, programme souvenir, accommodation, three meals + snack, and evening activities. Please note that boarding students arrive on Sunday in order to start classes on Monday, and depart on Sunday.

Voice - Vocal Variety "In the Key of Glee" (Boarding Programme)

This dynamic one week voice performance programme will be comprised of 24 budding young singers. Performers will study private voice and participate in daily acting, dance and stage movement classes with our distinguished faculty. Within the programme, students will continue to build their performance skills through daily performance and seminar classes. All participants will be featured in a choreographed showcase:"In the Key of Glee" comprised of contemporary and Broadway style selections. This is guaranteed to be a positive and rewarding week of singing and dancing for all.

Set in a residential environment, this programme gives the students a chance to immerse themselves in a world of music with a group of their peers. It is here that they will be able to share their experiences and their love of the fine arts not only with their teachers and the other faculty, but with each other.
