Middle School Curriculum

The Middle School program is comprehensive and includes a small number of optional subjects.

The following courses are required for all grades in Middle School:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Humanities (English and
    Social Studies)
  • French
  • Additional language class
  • Music (Band or Strings)
  • Art
  • Physical Education
  • Information Literacy and Technology
  • Health and Career Education
  • Choir
  • Exploratory

All students in each grade are required to take an additional language class besides French. In Grade 6, students have the option of Japanese or Mandarin. In Grades 7 and 8, students can opt to take Communication Skills, an enriched language arts course, or they can continue to take Japanese or Mandarin.
