Boarding Coordinator

Seasonal Contract, May 29 - Aug 26, 2017, $23 per hour.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintain weekly activity schedule
  • Welcome youth aged 8 to 18
  • Create a safe and culturally sensitive environment
  • Ensure all necessary transportation, staffing and meals have been taken care of
  • Schedule a wide variety of recreational activities such as crafts, cooking, board games, wide games, and indoor and outdoor sports
  • Supervise evening and weekend student ambassadors who provide guidance and leadership to camp members
  • Provide feedback as necessary to ensure student ambassadors are on task and actively engaging with international students
  • Manage keys to rooms: distribution and lost keys
  • Ensure that custodial and maintenance requirements are communicated to the respective department and responded to appropriately


  • Must be eligible to work in British Columbia
  • Must be a current student, intending to continue studying during the 2017-2018 academic year
  • Should have prior work experience with students from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Relevant areas of study: education, commerce, international studies, modern languages, linguistics, business, humanities, child and youth care, or social sciences

Desired Competencies

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • A valid Class 4 or 5 Drivers license
  • Valid Standard First Aid
