Junior School Associate Teacher - Individual Student Support

One-year, part-time position (mornings) with the possibility of an extension.

This Associate Teacher will support an individual student within the classroom setting. This position may also include preparing learning material to support an enriched curriculum, supervisory duties at recess and lunch, and occasional meetings after school.


  • Two or more years of teaching or assistant teacher experience at the elementary level

  • Willingness to partner with teachers to support the needs of the individual child
  • Dynamic, engaging educator

Qualities of a successful candidate:

  • Experience with children with learning exceptionalities
  • Experience with children with sensory processing issues
  • Experience helping children navigate through social emotional development
  • Experience with a 1:1 model of individualizing and guiding children through self-paced learning
  • A sound knowledge of early childhood development and pedagogy
  • Collaborative team player able to take direction well and work independently
  • Sense of humour and love of this age group
  • Supportive, nurturing personality
