Head Coach - Squash

September 2019 - April 2020

We are seeking a Head Coach for our squash program, commencing September 2019. Co-curricular athletics is an important part of our overall SMUS education. In our model, the squash season runs from September to April, with training occuring between the hours of 3:30-8:30 pm. The successful candidate can expect that the majority of this work will be done after school and on weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, teach, assess and report on a squash program, grades 1-12
  • Lead and coordinate a squash program that includes development and competitive pathways
  • Collaborate with other coaches, faculty and staff
  • Communicate with parents on a regular basis
  • Demonstrate sport values in a school-based setting
  • Participate in SMUS coaching staff meetings and professional development opportunities


  • Teaching certification an asset
  • NCCP certification an asset
  • Experience coaching competitive squash at the provincial and/or national level
  • Experience coordinating and planning both competitive and recreational programming for squash
  • Experience in coordinating league and tournament play
  • Familiarity with Canada’s LTAD model
  • Proficient communication skills

The successful candidate must pass and maintain a clear criminal record check for the purposes of working with children.
