Foundations of Learning

Foundations of LearningSt. Michaels University School believes that every one of our students has the ability to excel. We also recognize that the path to excellence will be different for each of us, which is why we are highly adaptive in our approach to education.

We offer an academic program that is demanding, stimulating, and engaging. It challenges students intellectually and encourages them to reach their full academic potential as it provides them with rich learning experiences in a wide variety of subject areas, including an extensive slate of Advanced Placement courses at the Senior School.

Teachers employ a wide repertoire of teaching and learning strategies, and students are actively involved in the learning process. Beginning in Kindergarten, the academic program is designed to build literacy, numeracy and critical thinking skills, as well as to provide students with the opportunity to study music, technology, social studies, languages and many other subject areas as part of the core curriculum.
