Middle School teachers strive to instil confidence in our students' ability to successfully understand concepts in Mathematics. This can take the form of giving extra tutorials for students who find math challenging, or taking the program further for students who are strong in math and ready to learn more.

Our focus in Middle School Mathematics is on developing strength in – and in some cases progressing beyond – the following prescribed curriculum concepts:

  • problem-solving;
  • number concepts and operations;
  • patterns and relations;
  • shape and space; and
  • statistics and probability

Establishing good work habits are an essential step in the development of strong reasoning skills. We help students to become self-directed learners through problem solving, discussions with peers, deductive reasoning and Socratic questioning.
