Director of Admissions and Engagement
September, 2007
BSc (University of Toronto); coursework toward BA (Toronto); Dip. Ed (McGill University); MEd (University of Ottawa)

As a former teacher and vice principal, Paul knows the importance of balance in the classroom. Not only should there be theory as well as hands-on experience, but the students themselves should offer different perspectives and knowledge in order for learning to be complete. As Director of Admissions and Engagement, Paul manages the enrolment and recruitment of students with a keen eye for balance throughout the school.

"We search for students from Victoria and around the world”, says Paul, "who fit the SMUS mission and demonstrate excellence, passion and compassion.”

Paul racked up the miles traveling and teaching in the early 90s and now searches the world to find the right students for SMUS. He guides families through the admissions process with an eye on building the best application pool for admittance to the school.

"We know the application process can be stressful for students," Paul says, "so we do our very best to make the experience an enjoyable one.”

When Paul isn't meeting new and past families in Saskatchewan or Switzerland, you can find him in his garden, enjoying a show at the Belfry Theatre with his husband, or walking his dog at the beach.
