Future Skills Institute: Skills for a Blended Learning Future

Future Design School logo

The Future Skills Institute is designed to empower educators to build the classroom of the future.

St Michaels University School (SMUS) and Future Design School (FDS) have collaborated to offer our first Future Skills Institute to respond to the needs of students and teachers in a remote learning setting.

Working within the curriculum requirements across all grades and subjects, the Future Skills Institute empowers educators with project-based strategies that build creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills.

Educators will walk away with immediately applicable skills to engage students online and feel empowered to build effective units and lessons that take into account both online and hybrid learning scenarios. Leveraging a backwards design process, educators will learn a repeatable process to drive innovative practice in unit and lesson design that takes advantage of the best use of the different learning modalities.

Drawing from the principles and best practices of remote learning and using both synchronous and asynchronous elements, you will work in teams from your own school, or collaborate with teachers across schools, to plan a lesson or unit together leveraging inquiry-based learning and connecting learning to real-world challenges.

Join us on August 26 for the Future Skills Institute!
