School Ties: 2017, Spring Issue

School Ties: 2017, Spring Issue

Published: March, 2017

In this issue, School Ties rides the wave from the latest school news and updates from around campus. "The Rare Birds of China Come Home" tells the wild story of Sir David Newbigging '45 commissioning world-renowned artist J. Fenwick Landsdowne '52 to paint a series of portraits. Zach Zwicky '17 seeks career and life advice from lawyer and former top advisor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Rachel Curran '90. We celebrate the best in SMUS literature with recent Scotiabank Giller Prize nominees Steven Price '94 and Andrew Battershill '06 as well. Our feature focuses on the Waves of Disruption conference recently held at SMUS where nine former students presented their thoughts on the unpredictable future of 21st Century learning. All that, plus the SMUS Roll of Honour 2.0, a special From the Archives feature, the Vivat Awards and, of course, several pages of Alumni Updates.
