Angelina Agathoklis
Teacher, Junior School Art

The process is more important than the product.

After graduating from UVic, Angelina ran her own art studio for two years, mainly exhibiting her own paintings. She became involved in art education by teaching art programs for pre-school children and participated in the Gallery in the Schools Program and The New Extreme Program at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Once her youngest child began kindergarten, Angelina decided to cement her teaching abilities with a degree in teaching.

“The balance that the creative process provides in the academic environment is vital to the well-being of the students,” says Angelina. “It helps them to see the world from many different perspectives.”

Angelina spent some time living in Switzerland and her favorite event has been the Independent Schools Association show. Outside of SMUS, Angelina can be found making art and jewelry, and riding her motorcycle.
