A great teacher is many things: a catalyst, a counsellor, a mentor, and sometimes all three. These teachers make a profound impact on our lives.

So it’s no surprise that for more than a hundred years, we’ve heard many stories from our students, parents and alumni about the teachers and staff that have made a big difference.

If a teacher or other staff member at SMUS - past or present - has made a big difference in your life, you can recognize them by making a gift to the Annual Appeal in their honour.

How to make a tribute gift

You can make a gift to the Annual Appeal recognizing a teacher or member of staff by completing the online donation form below.

As with other donations, you select the fund you want your gift to be directed to and the amount. After selecting the Tribute Giving option you will also be asked to provide:

  • The name of the person you are recognizing. They can be a past or present member of staff.
  • Your personal message to the member of staff (optional).

You will also be asked if you would like your tribute to be made anonymously.

Annual Appeal Tribute Giving CardWhat happens next?

A teacher or staff member who has been recognized by a Tribute Gift will receive a card with your personal message and your name (unless you choose to give anonymously). They will also receive recognition in school publications and on these webpages.

Where does my gift go?

Your gift goes to the fund you select when you complete the donation form. As always, we ask that you consider making your donation to School's Initiatives since it allows us to direct it to the area of most need. Your gift does not go directly to the teacher and the amount is not communicated to the teacher.
