Tribute to Brandon Hawes

Mr. Hawes, many thanks for helping to make our daughter's first year at SMUS a terrific success! She felt encouraged and supported by you, even when things were a little tough. She has had a great year, and we have watched her self-assuredness grow throughout the year. For her to have the confidence to dance and sing on stage at the MacPherson is a huge achievement! Our family is so impressed that you regularly volunteer your time outside of class to give the students a boost if they need it. Dylan and I have appreciated our ongoing communication with you; you continually helped us to know how we could work with you to support our daughter's learning. Mr. Keil taught me that I was good at things. He is funny and made me laugh. Grade five was my favorite year at SMUS. Every day I thought today is a good day, because Mr. Keil likes me.

He says he enjoys Ms. Vachon’s English class because he learns in fun ways, she always knows how to help him and she is nice and funny too! Thank you for a good year.
