I joined SMUS in 2014, bringing a passion for language learning and Chinese culture to students across all grade levels. My career in language education and cultural studies has led me to create immersive experiences that help students develop strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while deepening their understanding of Chinese traditions, history, and contemporary life.
At SMUS, I teach regular Mandarin courses and the AP Chinese and Culture course. I design collaborative projects and lead cultural celebrations, including cross-grade programs like our Chinese New Year collaboration between Senior and Junior School students. I am passionate about giving students authentic opportunities to experience Chinese culture firsthand—through projects, celebrations, field trips such as our annual cultural trip to Vancouver, and mentorship—so they can connect classroom learning to real-world experiences. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, swimming, walking, and spending time with my family.
