At the beginning of the year, the yearbook was just a collection of ideas on the screen. By May, it had turned into hundreds of pages, filled with memories from all over the school. Looking back, this is not just a book, but an opportunity to capture the people, events, and memories that made this year special.

Of course, creating a yearbook is not as simple as putting photos on the screen. Some of the most challenging jobs occur outside of campus and meetings. Most of our winter break time is spent on sketching, modifying designs on the cover and backsheets. As the deadline approaches, there are also moments of panic when photos are lost or pages still need to be adjusted. More than once, it feels like we don't have enough time.

At the same time, these challenges became the most unforgettable part of this experience. Browsing thousands of photos means re-examining every corner of our school life. When organizing pages, we often find ourselves forgetting how many things have happened in a year and how many different stories there are in this school, which also refreshes our memories.

One of our favourite parts of working in in Yearbook Club is seeing how many students have contributed to it unconsciously. Every athlete, performer, club member, artist, volunteer, and student appearing in the photos helps tell the story of this year. The yearbook may be assembled by a small group of students, but it is actually created by the entire school community.

2026 yearbook

When the printed edition finally arrived, all the late night and last-minute modifications suddenly felt worthwhile. The first time holding a completed book is an indescribable excitement. After spending several months looking at the pages on the screen, seeing everything printed and bound together feels like seeing the birth of a new life.

Writing this year's yearbook was one of the most rewarding experiences we had during our time at SMUS. Most importantly, it has given me a deeper emotional connection to the people, events, and memories that make our school community special. We hope that when everyone opens the yearbook, they see not just photos, but a year worth remembering.

We hope you like this gift.

The 2025-26 Yearbook editors were Molly Gu and Nicole Meng. Teacher sponsors Carol Adamson, Jordan Tessarolo and Emily Penn were key leaders for the Yearbook Club.
