3 students hold up notes of gratitude

On Giving Tuesday, we celebrate a beautiful movement that stands in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It's a day that transcends materialism, inviting us to embrace the true essence of the holiday season—generosity and compassion.

At its core, Giving Tuesday serves as a heartfelt reminder to extend kindness, support charitable causes, and dedicate our time to making a positive impact. It's a day when we collectively uplift each other, recognizing the profound significance of giving back to our communities.

In this season of gratitude, it becomes even more meaningful to acknowledge those individuals whose unwavering dedication enriches the lives of others. Taking a moment to express our heartfelt thanks not only honours their contributions but also fuels their spirit, encouraging them to continue their selfless endeavors.

The essence of Giving Tuesday intertwines seamlessly with the practice of gratitude. Both underscore the immense value of generosity while spotlighting those whose actions shape our daily experiences. Together, they exemplify the strength found in compassion, empathy, and the collaborative effort needed to create a more nurturing society for everyone.

As we approach Giving Tuesday on November 28, as a school, let's unite as a community to partake in a gesture that echoes our collective appreciation by writing Notes of Gratitude.

It's an opportunity to convey our deepest thanks to the exceptional individuals who leave an indelible mark on students and the entire SMUS community. Whether it's an inspiring educator, a caring staff member, a devoted houseparent, a retired mentor, or a tireless volunteer, let's seize this moment to express our heartfelt "Thank You!"

How can you participate?

  • Compose your heartfelt Note of Gratitude, highlighting the impact that special someone has had on your SMUS experience.
  • Submit your note on this Google form by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, November 28.

We will gather all these notes, print them, compile them into a package, and deliver them to each deserving recipient.

Let us make Giving Tuesday a day of appreciation and positivity! Your words of appreciation can brighten someone's day and remind them of the incredible difference they have made. Together, we can spread the love and warmth of gratitude throughout the SMUS community.

Let's all make a difference, one Note of Gratitude at a time!
