The St. Michaels University School Class of 2025 features 168 graduating students made up of 93 day students and 75 boarding students that come from over 30 different countries and 17 different nationalities. SMUS 2025 graduates received over 600 university offers to over 180 different universities.
Together, they were then admitted to over 180 different universities that cross the globe in 20 different countries. Over $3.7 million in scholarships were offered to over 53 per cent of the graduating class—those scholarships offered from over 60 institutions across nine countries.
It is truly a graduating class defined by ambition, achievement and global reach.
This week, the Class of 2025 officially sign off:
Among this group are also 26 'Lifers,' students who have been at the school since Kindergarten or Grade 1. That group also includes the first year of two Kindergarten classes, which naturally made this year the largest group of Lifers ever to graduate SMUS. Other firsts in this group include the first-ever Lifer of a Lifer in graduate Avery Geddes, whose father Mathew Geddes attended SMUS from 1981-1993. Will Cuddihy '25 and sister Eva Cuddihy '23 are also considered Lifers of Lifers, as their mom Erica Kjekstad was one of the first girls to attend the Junior School, joining in Grade Six when girls were gradually introduced into the younger grades in the 1980s.
The 2025 Lifers had two opportunities this year to engage with the current Kindergarten class, visiting in November to partake in a special ceremony where the graduates were handed red polo shirts, a shirt colour only a part of the Kindergarten uniform. The Lifer class later returned in April for the annual Lifer's Lunch where the current Kindergarten students shared lunch and recess with the grads for an afternoon of connection.
