Apollin Lu ’27 is making a meaningful impact on food security across the region. In a recent CHEK News Vital People feature, she shares how a moment on her family farm sparked the creation of the Food Recovery Alliance — a growing, youth-led initiative that rescues surplus produce from local farms and redirects it to community organizations. Now working with farms and partners across Vancouver Island and beyond, the alliance has already helped recover thousands of pounds of food for those in need.
