Grade 6
Our Grade 6 program prioritizes continued growth in academics, as well as students taking big leaps forward in gaining independence and responsibility.
Grade 6 is about developing independence as learners and as young people in the world. This is a key year, as students come to us from elementary school as children and start to become self-sufficient pre-teens.
In Grade 6, there is a continued emphasis on reading, writing and numeracy skills. Given the focus on responsibility, students learn how to manage their time, be organized learners, and take notes. While Senior School is three full years away, students are being prepared to succeed in high school.
By the end of Grade 6, students will have a good understanding of who they are as learners, thanks to a wide variety of experiences. They will have taken big steps forward in honing skills to be independent that will benefit them for life.
